I'm excited to announce the creation of a CloudReady Dev channel! It is our goal to continue to provide our users updated builds as soon as we are confidently able. Some details about this:
- The channels follow the Chrome OS naming convention & model (Dev, Beta and Stable), but we do have slightly different definitions for each of the 3 channels
- Dev Channel - OS Upgrade + minimal/potentially incomplete change set from previous version. The goal for this channel is to get out a build with the only major feature being an OS Upgrade. This build passes autotests and we verify updates work as intended - but other than that, the QA is light.
- Beta Channel - OS Upgrade + any & all CloudReady additional development (machine fixes, bug fixes, etc). This channel will go through some QA, but not through our full gauntlet of testing.
- Stable Channel - Final version release. This channel will only receive fully QA'ed builds.
We will be releasing CloudReady v55.1 out sometime today, so feel free to subscribe to the Dev channel if you're willing. Hopefully we see good adoption of the channel from the community and definitely don't hesitate to let us know what you think. Thanks for being proud CloudReady users!
