I'll try it out in all honesty, I never used the dev channel before but don't see the harm lol, if there's any problems just need to do a clean install. Edit: after messing around with it for a few hours haven't ran into any issues & the new version is actually a bit faster (well at least for me in all honesty) noticed some stuff loads up faster then before but if something pops up will post back. 1 Permalink Joseph Honnoll June 27, 2017 15:42 (Edited June 27, 2017 17:47) I'll try this with my HP Stream 11 and report back... Edit: So far good and I Downloaded for my Acer Aspire Netbook Noticed that the TrackPad went back to where now I have to use Two-Fingers to click on stuff as now just clicking does right-click motions 0 Permalink Jesse Pierce June 27, 2017 21:10 @Joseph - just so I understand, you're saying 1-finger tap opens up the right-click menu while 2-finger tap does not? @Courtney & @Joseph - I've updated the release notes to include more details about the release - just fyi in case you wanted more information. Thanks! 0 Permalink Joseph Honnoll June 27, 2017 21:20 (Edited June 28, 2017 16:02) Yes, if I want to click I have to use 2-Fingers and yeah the Tab-Menu is One-Finger Edit: I'm testing my Dell 2100 soon Edit2: Same result. Hopefully by Beta it's corrected 0 Permalink Pawel June 27, 2017 22:56 How did you get that up and running? I have changed channels and tried even upgrading from a command line and nothing...I'm using HP Stream 14 with AMD CPU. Would that be an issue? 0 Permalink Courtney June 27, 2017 23:21 @Pawel My laptop is a HP G1 255 & have a AMD graphics card (AMD Radeon HD 7340) & a AMD CPU (AMD E2-2000 1.75GHZ) & all works fine on my end in all honesty. Though it is possible it's the CPU in all honesty. Cloudready still has a long way to go in supporting AMD drivers/hardware. Last update for AMD hardware was in v54 but there is a chance more support will come in the future. Though recommend you make a thread/forum post explaining what's going on to get some better help in all honesty. I mean there is a chance it could be something else & not the CPU in all honesty. 1 Permalink Phil Reilly June 27, 2017 23:55 Edge scrolling has disappeared & two finger scrolling is slower than v56. FYI ... I have normal clicking functionality. 1 Permalink Phil Reilly June 28, 2017 00:00 Sent a log upload mostly as a test for the scroll issue just described. 0 Permalink Courtney June 28, 2017 05:42 (Edited June 28, 2017 05:51) @Jesse I can agree with Phil Edge scrolling on the touchpad doesn't work for me either anymore. Though I am not experiencing any of the issues Joseph mentioned & not the slowness either. Only issue is the edge scrolling other then that it's the only issue so far & everything else works on my end (except the edge scrolling) Also will try to send a report with the new logging feature. Edit: It said it uploaded Also this is actually a pretty neat little feature actually & like how a report automatically gets sent to you guys. Pretty & extremely simple, I am loving cloudready more & more with each update ^^ 1 Permalink Courtney June 28, 2017 05:58 (Edited June 28, 2017 06:17) Sorry for the double post but if anyone doesn't know what Freon Graphic Stacks is here's an article https://iwf1.com/chrome-os-implements-a-new-home-made-graphics-stack-named-freon-ditches-x11/ Though only gives a brief description lol & it's what the official chrome OS uses in all honesty. 1 Permalink Jesse Pierce June 28, 2017 14:46 (Edited June 28, 2017 14:46) Thanks @Phil & @Courtney - I saw both of your logs come in. I'll take this back to the dev team and report back. 1 Permalink Phil Reilly June 28, 2017 17:24 @Jesse I didn't see much feedback on the log upload page for the user. Can the logs be listed & maybe even selectively checked? 0 Permalink Joseph Honnoll June 28, 2017 22:24 (Edited June 28, 2017 22:25) If I update to the Beta again and post my Log would that help to see what went wrong? I'd imagine just something in the Code got Switched Around If so how I'd post my Log? 0 Permalink Courtney June 28, 2017 23:21 (Edited June 28, 2017 23:23) @ Joseph you type this in the chrome browser chrome://cloudready-logs/ In the space you can write in mention what's going on, then click the gather logs button. Then you get a copy of the logs located in files under the download section & a copy will be sent to support automatically. 1 Permalink Phil Reilly June 28, 2017 23:26 I too wasn't aware that logs would be in the Download folder. 0 Permalink Courtney June 28, 2017 23:30 @ Phil yep they are under the downloads section in files though the logs are zipped & no idea how you would open them on cloudready though. Since all you can do is zip a folder but can't unzip it lol. 1 Permalink Phil Reilly June 28, 2017 23:37 (Edited June 28, 2017 23:42) I see two layers of folders with the deepest being empty? 0 Permalink Phil Reilly June 29, 2017 00:11 @ Courtney The first time it didn't save a zip file but subsequent attempts have been successful. The zip can be opened & mounted with "Wicked Good Unarchiver". Double click the zip & you can choose to install the app. 1 Permalink Joseph Honnoll June 29, 2017 03:29 Here are my Logs LINK 0 Permalink Francois Rioux June 29, 2017 07:49 This new build is working flawlessly on my Dell D640. Great work. Jesse, will you skip 1 or 2 Cromium major release, or will CloudReady keep a 3 month, 2 version lag behind the OS release? 1 Permalink Cody Larson June 29, 2017 15:17 Few things on my macbook 4 1: -2 finger click to right click does not work -scrolling is otherwise wayyy nicer/quicker -due to scrolling issues I was having in previous versions I had disabled the chromium pdf viewer and used an extension from the webstore instead, and with the new scrolling update I was planning on switching back to the default pdf viewer, however since 57 disabled about:plugins all I am left with is a checkbox in settings, but regardless of if it is checked or not I cannot enable the pdf viewer 0 Permalink Joseph Honnoll June 29, 2017 15:29 Cody Larson, Me to with both my Aver Aspire and Dell 2100. Now I have to use the Pad-Buttons to Left-Click where before I could use just Trackpad to 0 Permalink David Spoelstra June 30, 2017 04:26 HP Probook 440 G2. Edge scrolling is gone - Yea! Two finger scrolling is slower than it was in the previous version. Everything else seems to work fine. 0 Permalink Max Gomes July 01, 2017 16:54 Hi, My Acer Aspire Travelmate 5740 was working fine under 56.x, but after update to 57.x the screen started to blink and did not play some videos even after installing the plugins. Anyway, your project is wonderful, I support and share this wonderful initiative. Thank you! 1 Permalink Joseph Honnoll July 01, 2017 19:22 This is a Alpha/Beta Build so things could happen... Just re-install back to 56 like I have. 1 Permalink Max Gomes July 02, 2017 20:02 I did it and things are normal now. 1 Permalink Isky Hassan July 02, 2017 20:45 Just installed 57 on my Asus 1205b e450 hd6320. Like everyone else, my two-fingered scrolling is slower. Bootup took longer (35sec) vs 25sec for 56. Also, seems as if my cpu fan kicks in earlier and higher (rpm) then usual, so there may be some power mgmt issues. Will test it out further before uploading the logs. 0 Permalink Joseph Honnoll July 03, 2017 17:22 Everything for me on my Acer Aspire is working but the Touch-pad. When on 56 The Touch-Pad worked as Left-Click but now it's switched to Left-Click and the Buttons are the same though 0 Permalink Phil Reilly July 07, 2017 19:43 Is there a download link for this? 0 Permalink Joseph Honnoll July 07, 2017 22:47 I'll have to record a video... give me a moment 0 Permalink 1 2 › » Please sign in to leave a comment.
