With the tentative promise by Google to fully retire Flash from Chrome OS, we'd like to address our customers' concerns about the future of Flash on CloudReady.
In keeping with our commitment to provide an experience as seamless and secure as Chrome OS, Neverware plans to adhere to the default behavior that Google sets in each version of the browser as Flash is slowly de-emphasized and ultimately deprecated for Chrome and Chromium browsers. Once Google retires Flash entirely on Chromebooks, CloudReady will do the same in an equivalent release of CloudReady 4-12 weeks later.
Note that Google has not made a definitive public statement about when Flash will be fully retired, but some tentative target dates are detailed here.
Any issues experienced with Flash on the current version of CloudReady are likely due to permissions, settings, or configuration and can be resolved. Google's and CloudReady's current support for Flash is fully functional in all cases that we know of, but may require adjustments to a user's settings from https://admin.google.com or in Settings for individual users.
