How do I enable Widevine on my CloudReady device?

    I am using the latest version, but netflix still does not work on my Lenovo T61. Netflix Error-Code: M7355

    Hi it seems that Widevine is broken in version 68.1 it looks like we have to wait for 68.2 to fix this issue, also you have to be on the 64bit version to work as 32bit not supposed anymore.

    Also, Cloudready support, if in fact 64-bit versions no longer support widevine, please consider revising the above statement "As of v66.4 of CloudReady, all Editions have Widevine built in, similar to Chromebooks." Thank you.

    Hi Jesse, are you guys considering providing 68.0 version until there is a fix for the Widevine issue?

    I cannot play amazon prime video material on my Lenovo T520.

    The amazon error message refers to Widevine not being installed.

    Widevine does not appear in my list of chrome://components so I cannot update it (if that's the problem).

    Any advice and recommendations?

    Hi Michael, I'm using the latest version of CloudReady and everything works fine, check what version you are using, the 68.1 had the issue with Widevine. Try an update to fix the problem.

    Alexandru, thanks very much for your advice.

    I'm using version 68.0.3440.134 which was the update pushed out a couple of weeks ago.

    I've been been taking the OTA updates rather than manually updating.

    When you say 68.1 does that mean there is an update on my current version that I have not yet installed?

    That is the platform build number I'm talking about the CloudReady version which you can find in the tab "About CloudReady" I'm on 68.4.59 and next to it is the "check for updates" button. Hope this helps.

    Alexandru, thanks again for your help.

    I'm on 68.4.60 (based on the info in the top right corner of my screen at logon).

    However in the chrome components section there is no mention of Widevine.

    When I try and play an Amazon Prime video the message I get is that "Your web browser is missing a digital rights component.", which I understand is actually included in 68.4?  

    I don't appear to have a 'check for updates' button - but I'm on the Home edition.

    Maybe I should make a new installer and start again - I've been on Cloudready for quite a while just taking the updates.

    You could try to do a fresh install, if that doesn't help I'm not sure how I can help you.

    having the same  Widevine issues. Fresh install of latest Cloudready version. Bummer because I am enjoying This OS so much otherwise. Not much good to me if no streaming. I have followed steps to change settings, suggested by Chrome and Amazon and other online sources. I have found no evidence of  Widevine as a plug in, nor a way to add it. Please update us if this changes or someone figures out a workaround.I have 70.4.39 (Developer Build - neverware) developer-build chromeover64 on a Lenova Yoga y720 running OS from a memory stick. So far i have yun into no other glitches and can use this "convertible" as a pad or laptop.

    Also: Fresh installed 70.4.39  Widevine seems not to be installed 
    Is there any way to install it afterwards?

    Build 72.3 is now up and on my machine everything seems to work, I'm using an Asus x51l.

    72.3.32 also here on HP Stream  But Netflix still doesn't work.

    Just had an update to 72.4.27 build and it seems that Amazon and Netflix are working.

    @Alexandru - thank you for the update! Glad to see it's working for you.

     

    @Patricio - I'm sorry to see you struggling with CloudReady and Netflix. The Neverware team works very hard to get a functional operating system out every time we release. Please post on the forums if you're struggling with media playback, but also know that we have heard from no customers on the latest v72.4 version, using certified devices that also have Proprietary Codecs installed, that are experiencing any issues playing Netflix. All that being said, we absolutely do not tolerate abusive language or behavior on our Knowledge Base or Forums. If we observe you again using unacceptable language on our platform, we will suspend your privileges.

    Hi, I'm using Cloudready version 72.4.35 (not sure about the last two digets) on a Dell Inspiron N5010 and still having troubles watching Netflix and using Spotify webplayer. I'm using the 64 bit version.

    Would be realy greatfull if you found a solution for this problem.

    Not sure why they don't ship with the latest Widivine library, but anyway Neverware plan to stop supporting 32bits on August'19...

    I have an HP 15-r174ca Notebook fully update to version 74.3 with codecs and flash installed and also updated and Netflix fails to play with error code C7121-1331. I have the home version 64 bits running on stable channel.
