    Ambrogio -

    When you go to

Settings > About Chromium OS > Check for Updates

    what happens?

Also, from the same screen, can you confirm if you're set to "alpha" ?

It says that the system is up to date.

I cannot confirm the alpha right now, I will later today.

    Hi Ambrogio -

I honestly do not know. Are you on a work / school network? Maybe those would be blocking updates?

I'd recommend you reinstall v54 - should solve the issues going forward (unless you're on a restricted network)

Actually I cannot see what channel I am set on, or how to change it. It is not shown.

I have cloudready installed on my personal laptop (together with a Windows boot and a Linux boot) and the network is my domestic network (actually it is the tethering from my phone).

How can I do the manual upgrade and is it safe?

    Hi,

You reinstall to the latest version just like you originally installed - go to neverware.com/freedownload and download the 64-bit version (unless your device is 32bit only - then use 32bit). Then follow instructions at guide.neverware.com to create a USB installer and install.

    Also - a colleague just suggested -

If you are triple booting, you may have caused system structure issues that prevent update.

For instance, on a dualboot(or tripleboot in this case) system, CloudReady expects to own and operate freely in partitions 16-27. If you've moved or taken over any of those partitions, the updates would be pretty likely to fail.

Any thing you've done along those lines?

or anything non-standard about how you originally installed?

I first installed CloudReady (almost a year ago) and I had a simple bootloader with only Windows and ClourReady options to select.

Then I put a Linux OS and since then I'm having a first bootloader where I can choose the three options and more. When I choose ClourReady I access the previous simple bootloader with only Windows and ClourReady option to select.

Yes...I guess it is pretty messed up (but it is not my fault!)
