    I was able to repartition the drive after installing CR, and install Ubuntu on it. Boot loader sees "unknown Linux" which is ČR but booting gives me "kernel panic not syncing VFS". I suspect it has something to do with UEFI/MBR, but that's where I have given up.

    Some machines offer a 'boot from EFI file' feature, which should let you boot into your new Ubuntu partition.  I would advise taking space from the 'STATE' partition, which should be the highest on the drive.
