John - which version are you on?

I can't reproduce this issue, though deep in our past we did have accounts of this occurring occasionally.

    Hi Forrest,

    I upgrade my CloudReady, it's now 47.1.86 (Developer Build - neverware) developer-build chromeover32.

The problem remains. Like you said, this doesn't always occur. I can't find a way to always reproduce it yet.

    John -

if you can find a reliable repro case (maybe just one particular app, or something like that) we'll be happy to investigate.

    Hi Forrest,

I think I can reproduce the problem. The steps are:

    1. Download cloudready-free-48.1.26.bin.zip
    2. Make a USB installer with it.
    3. Create a new Google account.
    4. Boot with the USB installer (don't install).
    5. Login with the new Google account.
    6. Go to this link: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_textarea
    7. Type "This is a book" in the textarea.
    8. Type in 2 spaces.
    9. It became: "This is a book. "

    John -

If you *don't* create a new Google user does it still happen?

If you continue to use that new Google user for a few more minutes does it continue?

  • John Lin

    Hi Forrest,

Yes, it still happens. I created a new Google account just for a clean environment to test.

Yes, it continues. However, after maybe like 1 or 2 hours, it is normal again. But the problem will occur again after another 1 or 2 hours.

Can you reproduce the problem with my steps?

  • Forrest Smith

    Hi John,

I can reproduce this issue but only in the first 1-2 minutes of use after log in - after that it never comes back that I can notice.

Are you using a built in keyboard or an external? In either case, does the issue occur when using the alternative?

  • John Lin

    Hi Forrest,

By "built-in keyboard", do you mean a built-in keyboard in a laptop? I am using a desktop, so it's an external keyboard.

I also notice that when I change my input method, the problem will be gone for a moment. But when I change back to US input method, the problem continues.

John - are you on 32-bit or 64-bit?

Does your machine support 64-bit? I wonder if behavior might be less severe there.

  • John Lin

    Forrest -

    I am using a 64-bit machine, and I am using 64-bit CloudReady.

Thank you for spending some much time on this. I really appreciate it.

  • Forrest Smith

Just to rule it out, if you have the time, switching to 32-bit would be a good data point.

    Hi Forrest,

Sorry, I don't have a 32-bit machine. The issue is still bothering me.

I found another way to reproduce this:

    1. Create 2 Google accounts and login both accounts in CloudReady.
    2. Type something and 2 spaces don't convert to a period.
    3. Use ctrl+alt+> to switch to another account.
    4. Type something and 2 spaces do convert to a period.
    5. Wait for 1~2 minutes. 2 spaces don't convert to a period.
    6. Use ctrl+alt+> to switch to the first account.
    7. Type something and 2 spaces do convert to a period, again.

My CloudReady version is "61.4.54 (Developer Build - neverware) developer-build chromeover64". Hope you can try to reproduce it. Thanks.
