Asus EeeTop ET2002

Thanks for the thorough look Dan! Those Ion GPUs are only good up to 720p low frame rate in my experience (on CloudReady) as well. Good enough for surfing, especially with 2 GB RAM, but not exactly a media center candidate.

Adding this to our list of "mostly working" machines.

This is the video corruption I was describing:

And then anything you do it gets worse.  If the shell is reset by logging out, the video returns to normal.

    Daniel -

    Thanks for the image -

Is all the red/black around the windows (where the browser frame should be) the issue?

    Just want to confirm.

  • Daniel Miller

After the original video corruption occurs, the only thing that gets rendered properly is what's rendered by Chromium browser.  Everything else appears corrupted in random ways unless the machine is restarted or logged out.

    Thanks for the info.

We have an NVIDIA Ion netbook (Asus 1215N) here that we will check things out on - if that exhibits the issue you can count on improvements coming in the next several months. If we can't reproduce it, you'll have to cross your fingers and hope that the issue is resolved "by accident" when we update down the road.

    I'll let you know.

  • Forrest Smith

Also - does the issue occur if you run at 480p (in youtube video settings) and fullscreen?

  • Daniel Miller

It doesn't happen 100% of the time at 480p and isn't limited to YouTube.
