    Hi,

You may need to target the 32bit efi file at path

    efi > boot > bootia32.efi

If that doesn't work, it may be that this particular chipset just isn't supported on CloudReady.

    Hi Forrest,

    thanks again.

    Can you explain me, please?

How can I "target the 32bit efi file at path    efi > boot > bootia32.efi"?

be patient, please, I'm a newbie...

    have a nice day.

    Hi,

I don't know how your machine works, so let's do it in the reverse.

I tried to start cloudready on Acer W4 820 but after entering the sequence of bios, I select USB stick, the screen turns on but nothing happens.

Can you post pictures to show what steps you take more concretely? I'm interested in seeing:

    1) The BIOS screens and settings you have to change

    2) What the menu looks like when you select your USB stick

    Hi Forrest,

    thanks.

    Do you mean these?

    I hope is right...

    Thanks.

    have a nice day.

    Andrea

I think you need to select the option "Select an UEFI File as Trusted for Executing" and then use the menu there to select

    efi > boot > bootx64.efi

If that doesn't work, you can also try the same options, but with

    efi > boot > bootia32.efi

    hope that helps!

    Hi Forrest,

I tried to click on the indicated item (also on the others) but unfortunately nothing happens (do not change the screen or anything else, the command is not accepted).

    Thanks.

    Hi Andrea,

I would recommend looking into what might allow you to identify a file there. Maybe you need to re-enable secure boot to adjust that setting? Or maybe change just the "Secure Boot Mode"?

No way to guarantee it, but I got another Acer (Cloudbook 14) to work the other day using this step.

Andrea. I have the same tablet. From my understanding, Acer locks the bootloader on these devices :( . Going from Win 7 to 10 (32bit), that's fine. Anything outside of that, prepare to be annoyed. You could try running the OS in a virtual machine but that would be on top of running Windows which might negate some of the advantages of using a lightweight OS like Cloud Ready / Chrome OS.

    Hi Forrest,

    thanks.

    unfortunately neither works...

    LightyKD thanks for the explanation.

I will continue to use cloudready on pc but i think i will buy a chromebook, Acer R11 CB5 132T.

    again thanks.

    have a nice day.
