I had a very old VAIO laptop lying around the house which I about to toss but I thought of trying out CloudReady once before I finally threw it.
To my surprise, Cloudready installed on it in the first go without any hiccup at all and now I have a working coffee table laptop. Couldn´t be happier. This laptop is even connecting to 5Ghz WiFi, I didn´t even know laptops back then had this capability.
Specs from About System I could find
- CHROME VERSION
68.0.3440.134 (Developer Build 0 Chromium OS)
- Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8100 @ 2.10GHz
- 180 GB HDD (approx)
- 2 GB RAM (my best guess)
- 1280x800 native resolution
Working features I have tried
- Display and Display´s brightness settings
- Hardware Volume buttons at top and Wifi switch at the left hand side.
- Touchpad with two finger scroll and tap
Just a point, my Ethernet port is not working though I´m not sure if this is Cloudready or just the hardware broke down as the laptop was really lying around for a very long time in the house. If I get some time, I will try it with a live Ubuntu USB.
Thank you once again CloudReady developers. Thank you so much :D
