    Hi there.

When booting the laptop, do you have backlight all the way UNTIL you press enter and login?

If that Is so please let me know, which model your laptop Is, and I will try to find a workaround for you.

    Hey Mikoto

    It's a Sony Vaio SVE1712S1EB

When the CloudReady screen disappears, the keyboard backlights go out.
So when I press keys at the login screen, nothing happens.

    Thx

    Hi Thomas.

I have played around a bit, and this worked for one of my Sony Vaio laptops.

Go into chrome shell, and use the following command.

    echo "options sony-laptop kbd_backlight=1" > /etc/modprobe.d/sony-laptop.conf

This worked in my case, but every laptop might be different.

Remember I am here to help.

    Hi Mikoto

I get bash: /etc/modprobe.d/sony-laptop.conf: Permission denied

Try with sudo in front :)

    sudo echo "options sony-laptop kbd_backlight=1" > /etc/modprobe.d/sony-laptop.conf

I don't remember If Neverware uses the sudo, but It's worth a shot :)

I tried it already, but gave me the same result.

I checked the folder but no sony-laptop.conf file is in the modprobe.d folder.
I'm not such a command line hero, sorry :p

Ok, created a file in that folder and could edit the file and add the options, but nothing happens.
