linx 1010 tablet / laptop works fine but no touchscreen.
hi.
everything i've tried with cloudready works really well, thanks, apart from touchscreen.
70.4.39 (Developer Build - neverware) developer-build chromeover64
from reading I imagine it's unsupported with my device but i was just wanting to check there wasn't some simple setting i'd overlooked.
thanks for any pointers.

You're probably right that this is just a missing driver or messed up driver config - less common brands like Linx may be using unusual components for their touchscreen, or setting them up so that they don't work as most do.
The only things that might change things would be to see if sleep/resume re-initializes the touchscreen, or if our v71 release in the dev channel has better support.

Hi, apologies for resurrecting an old thread but as there's only one existing LINX1010B thread I thought it best to update this than create a new one.
On the whole I'm impressed with how well CloudReady works. I am currently running version 74.4.58 stable. I know this isn't an officially supported device so I'm not expecting everything to work, but for anyone at Neverware who'd like to know, or anyone with a LINX1010B thinking of installing CloudReady, here's the issues I currently have. (Anything not mentioned is working fine)
- As the OP says, the touchscreen doesn't work. The touchscreen is a Goodix device that works fine on Linux as of at least Ubuntu 15.04. I can't see any obvious Goodix kernel modules present in my CloudReady install but as I'm not dual-booting I can't easily compare with the same device under Linux.
- Screen needs rotating to 90 deg if you want to use it in landscape mode (the hardware is designed in portrait mode for some reason, not CloudReady's fault). When rotating, the mouse cursor stays in "0 degree" orientation which looks a bit strange!
- Brightness control doesn't work - it's either full brightness or backlight off when the brightness control is set to zero. /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness varies between 0 and 100 (max_brightness) as expected but the actual hardware doesn't change.
- Wifi works but WPA2 doesn't seem to - I had to switch on the legacy WPA mode on my router (as opposed to WPA2) in order to get CloudReady to connect.
- Cameras don't appear to work. No Camera app is installed and visiting e.g. webcamtest.net states "hardware not available". (Also a problem with the LINX1010B under Linux, not just a CloudReady problem)
- Bluetooth doesn't appear to work. It can't be enabled in the Settings app. (Also a problem with the LINX1010B under Linux using the kernel version that CloudReady uses I believe, fixed in later kernels)
- Touchpad on the LINX keyboard is sometimes a bit dodgy, e.g. using a single finger to move the mouse occasionally does a zoom in/out action instead. It seems like it starts up perfectly fine but this behaviour increases over 20-30 mins of use - not sure if this is real or just my imagination!
- Suspend doesn't work (Also a problem with the LINX1010B under Linux using the kernel version that CloudReady uses I believe, fixed in later kernels)
- Updating to Beta channel / 76.3 release bricks the system - you don't even get the CloudReady logo on startup, just the BIOS logo over and over again. Only fixed by a reinstall of v74 (looks like this is a known issue)
Hope that helps somebody out!

Ian Renton, thank you for your knowledge of this tablet. The reason why the touchscreen/Bluetooth isn't working is because they haven't implemented the Drivers for those models of the PCBs. Not all touchscreen panels are the same so. Just wait for builds and watch there Blogs LINK

In terms of the beta update causing the devhce to stop booting :
On a device with similar chipset, the Intel Compute Stick, we found the same issue and resolved it be changing a BIOS setting. The setting was for Boot Mode, and particularly gave options for what OS was to be booted. We found that it was necessary to select "64bit Windows" or "Windows 8" to get it to stay working on v76.If your device has any settings along those lines, tinkering with them may be necessary to get v76 booting properly.

Joe, thanks I will keep an eye out and test future updates (once I can boot them!)
Forrest, unfortunately the LINX1010B BIOS doesn't have any similar options (except Windows 8 Fast Boot, which doesn't help). I notice that the v76.3 release notes mention a known issue with Bay Trail processors, so I'm assuming this is a known issue! Based on the suggestion to select "64bit Windows", is it related to the way these processors, despite being 64-bit, only support 32-bit EFI?

Joe: Previous working build for me was 74.4.58. Unfortunately I don't have the downloaded image still, so maybe Forrest can provide.
Disabling updates to stay on 74 works fine.
I've currently got it updated to 76.3 and doing some digging around the filesystem (using a bootable Linux USB) to see if I can spot any simple reason 76.3 doesn't boot on the Bay Trail, e.g. missing bootia32.efi file - nothing obvious found yet though.
