    Hello Devin,

Do you know if you are using a USB 2 or USB 3? Also it looks like that device has both USB 2 and USB 3 ports. For best performance, use USB 3 in a USB 3 port. You can see which ports are which on this spec list (https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05084797)

Also, live booting is intended for experimentation and installation. Not for extended use. We would not be able to make any assertions on providing fixes for live booting at this time.

I use a USB 2.0 from Sandisk, using the 3.0 port (probably makes no difference since its 2 0). Is it because it's a sandisk? (I've seen in the USB creator that they aren't recommended).

I do not think it is related to the Sandisk USB. The primary reason we call out not to use Sandisk USB is a sizable subset of them that we have found will not boot. Based on your description, you are able to boot so the typical Sandisk issue would not be at play.

My guess would be that the slower speed of your usb 2 compared to the HDD is there email cause, and that in particular you are seeing this issue exasperated in moments when I/O is intense because of the disk encryption native to Chromium OS. Shut down or sleep might be this as any started info that needs to be done prior to during down might need to be encrypted.

Easy with the foul language Forrest!

    Good catch. Evidence erased.
