    Hi,

     

    Sorry for the slow response. That site tells you that the OS Acer ships with the machine was 32bit (probably WinXP or Win7 back then).

    The hardware is definitely 64bit and 64bit OSs are what you should use whenever possible, including CloudReady. There was a period where 32bit Windows was popular despite lots of devices like this having support for 64bit due to differences in driver support, cost, simplicity, etc. But there's no good reason to avoid it now -the memory needs are minor, and the other differences like ongoing maintainence, features, security are better.

    It's a ok cpu for basic tasks but that's it. 2GB is the bare minimum for CR. You should be fine

    I appreciate the response.  It has been working ok for basic tasks, as you said.  (Though not really any multitasking before it starts going at a snail's pace.)
