    We don't intend CloudReady to be used on a thumb drive for long periods of time - performance is worse, and your storage space for downloaded files will be very limited (even if you use a larger USB drive).

     

    That said there's no reason you can't do it, and if you can live with minor performance degradation and limited file space for downloads, it may work just fine, and won't cause any kind of harm to your existing Windows install as long as you don't click through the full install interface (don't worry about accidental clicks - there are warnings and standard "are you sure?" dialogs).
