Can you confirm that connecting to the same ethernet wire on a different OS brings network access?

It does. My brothers computer runs Win 10 and using the same ethernet cable on that machine works. I also moved my brothers SSD over to the 755 to test the ethernet port on the 755 I am trying to install cloud ready on and the ethernet port on the 755 worked then too.

Have you tried simply reinstalling your Optiplex 755?

Yes, several times. I even re-installed it on the USB thinking maybe something went wrong with the USB maker the first time

My next suggestion would be to try attaching to a USB ethernet adapter to see if any connection can work.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried it but its the same thing. I also tried a different SSD just in case but it still would not connect

So to summarize, with this device running CloudReady:

Direct Ethernet connection shows up as attached in the UI but provides no network

USB > Ethernet adapter shows up as attached in the UI but provides no network

Reinstalling to the same or different internal storage does not change anything

The same Ethernet connections work on other devices, and work on this device when running a different OS

    That all correct?

If so, I think this points to an issue with your network allowing CloudReady to communicate via Ethernet, or some issue with the device's BIOS settings that, when combined with CloudReady's particular network behavior, breaks the connection.

I would reset your BIOS to defaults and see if that changes anything, along with removing any peripherals or attachments that aren't native.
