Disable Auto-Update?

Ilya G I tested C. Nero's claim with my own device and router and can report that indeed CloudReady proceeded to update as normal (96.2.2 to 96.3.22). I'm inclined to believe that I was able to successfully blacklist the three stated URLs. This is because before I applied the filter via my router settings, accessing the URLs via the browser returns something-- a "Missing Authentication Token" error, whereas now it returns nothing-- connection error / unable to reach which (I think) means the filtering worked. I noticed the tag "paid" in the URLs. Is there perhaps a different server for the home edition that should be blocked?

    C. Nero Just got me thinking, you mentioned that you've never disabled verity before which means you're not making significant modifications such as installing Crouton or Chromebrew. What prompts you to have to block updates? Is it Crostini? Chrome OS Flex already has a Beta channel and build available which I'm now using. This means things are getting serious; most issues are likely ironed out now and Beta versions literally are previews for the Stable release. I can confirm that Crostini works fine now. I'm fairly confident that it will continue to work once a stable version comes out.

Is there a shell command (or other) to check if verity is enabled/disabled? Yes I see the small letter status line on right top of the prel-ogin splash screen.  I am looking for one I use at any time from the console.

Joel R. No details we can share right now on timing for CloudReady to Flex update but we are working on it. We will provide notice once we have details to share.

We are investigating how we can bring in LTS fixes into CloudReady v96.

LTS is only available for enrolled devices, so doesn't apply to Home Edition.

Ilya G Noted on the (potential) LTS setup. It's a shame it won't apply to the Home Edition, but thanks for making this clear this early.

On disabling updates, should the below URL perhaps be added to the ones that need to be blacklisted for the Home Edition?

Illya, 18 days ago you had a post:

"C. Nero those are the correct URLs. "

I have a strong suspicion that list of 3 urls, had the critical, and possibly only required url for preventing the HomeEdition free updates:

    https://cloudready-free-update-server-2.neverware.com

Illya, when you confirm this, it may help others to keep verity in the latest version 96 and to prevent updates to Flex. Thank you.

    C. Nero and Joel R. thanks for spotting. It's been added to the article.
