*solved* USB installer doesn't boot

    They do was installing on one yesterday, have you checked your USB works on anything?

    Yes it does. And my attempt with kvm used the bin file from SSD.

    I found a hint that unzip may not work properly. Now I used 7zip and kvm shows me the splash screen on boot. So *DON'T USE* unzip.

    Maybe the image could be provided as 7z right away - so that nobody can fall into this trap anymore. I may have had it before, too.

    I'm going to butt-in (Ha) Here.... Google's Chrome Recovery Tool unzips the file and if you just unzip/extract the .BIN file (.BIN is a far unknown Extension that Windows is like WTH is this?!) the Program will just ignore the unzipping and go into writing to the SD-Card or USB Stick

     

    When it's done Windows is like (OK OK... format?! = NO)

    Finally my working "USB Maker" ("sdX" has to be replaced with YOUR target device name):

    7z x -so cloudready-free-*-64bit.zip |dd of=/dev/sdX
