Square Reader for magstripe

I was wondering if anyone has gotten the Square Reader for Magstripe to work on CloudReady?

 

In my browser I can login into my square dashboard, go to virtual terminal, take a payment, and under payment method there is a choice to swipe card. (The swipe card option is not available in my browser on my windows PC. According to Square, it won't work on Windows but is Chromebook compatible.)

 

When I click swipe card it begins a setup process:

 

(It says on requirements for hardware:   A Mac or Chromebook with a headphone jack.

 

I click Allow Microphone Access - response:  Microphone Access Enabled

I plugged Square Reader for magstripe into the headphone jack of  computer until clicks. Once reader is plugged in, I clicked the button Reader Connected.  - response:  Reader Connected.

Than says to swipe a card.  If successful, card type and 4 digits will appear.  -Response:   nothing appears but "I'm stuck on this step."

 

When I plug the reader in or take it out, the volume control shows on the screen so I know the change in status is being detected.  Also I've tried the reader on my phone and it works fine.

 

Any help would be suggested.

    I am afraid that CloudReady will not support Square’s free credit card reader. This is an Android OS program. The Chrome OS on a Chromebook has Android support. So if you want to use Square's program you will have to use a Chromebook.
