The stable version of ChromeOs Flex is OK
Have you a date for the update of CloudReady to Flex.

You can install CloudReady and set your update to the "Dev" update channel via Settings > About CloudReady > Additional Details > Change Channel
That Dev channel will update to the latest Dev version of Chrome OS Flex. If you are hacving issues with Flex install because the Flex dev channel is not compatible with your device, you may need to wait until stable channel uipdates are available in the coming months.

Sounds like a graphics issue with Chrome OS Flex's latest dev channel release on your machine (consistent between USB install and update).
When you say "The stable version of ChromeOS Flex is ok" in the original post, can you go into more detail as to how you know that this is true?
Also, can you provide details about your particular device's model name and internal components?

This Archos has an Intel® AtomTM Processor Z3735F / Quad-Core @ 1.33 GHz CPU
Forrest Smith, I have seen in the past that some Atom Processors have had difficulties with CR. Is that also the case with Flex?
